Evelyn Ruiz Fores-Montero is a storyteller, project leader, and lifelong observer of the quiet ways change shapes a child’s world. Raised as a military child and later serving in the U.S. Army, she learned early that home is not always a place—it is a feeling, carried forward through love, memory, and resilience.

Willowmere was written with her family close in mind, inspired by her nieces and nephew and by the many children who must learn to let go of what is familiar and find courage in what comes next.

 

Through gentle fantasy and lyrical prose, Evelyn hopes to give young readers language for big emotions, reassurance during uncertain moments, and a reminder that belonging can grow wherever kindness is planted.

When she is not writing, Evelyn works in healthcare project leadership, builds imaginative worlds one notebook at a time, and believes deeply in stories that comfort, guide, and stay with us long after the last page is turned.
